The What ?

Redefining Software Engineering (Or: Why I’m reshaping my 4 year old CS degree).

If I had to define "The What," it would be simple: I am trying to become a Software Engineer.

I know. Not exactly a unique concept. A 22-year-old CS grad writing about his coding journey? You’ve seen it a thousand times on your feed.

But let's be real for a second. For the past few years, I haven't really been an engineer. I’ve been a student. I followed the crowd, memorized the syllabus, and thought that was enough. I haven't leveraged my skills. I haven't worked on myself.

I was just drifting.

That stops now. This blog is my way of planting my feet and saying, "I am going to learn this for real."

So, I am restarting. I am diving into Backend Development because I have this itch to understand systems—I need to know what makes the machine tick. I don't want to just write code that runs; I want to know why it runs.

I’m going to learn the core concepts for depth. I’m going to grind the DSA problems. I’m going to build the projects that actually break things so I can learn how to fix them.

(The usual stuff you see on Instagram, but not just to influence you to consume another resource—but to join me. To sit with me if you are stuck and reading this right now. It might not be a do-or-die, but it’s a do-or-do situation).

"The What" is simple: It's me, stripping away the title of "CS Grad" and earning the skills of an Engineer from scratch.

I know what I need to become. In the next post, I’ll tell you exactly How I plan to get there.
